The Grasberg mine is the largest gold mine, the third largest copper mine, and the highest quarry in the world. It is located in the province of Papua in Indonesia near Puncak Jaya, the highest mountain in Papua.
It has over 20,000 employees. Each year, the Grasberg mine produces over 600,000 tons of copper, over 55,000 kilograms of gold, and about 175,000 kilograms of silver. Thanks to these high productivity rates, the Grasberg mine remains one of the world leaders for many years, despite the complexity of its geological and mining conditions.
